Minting, Ownership & Provenance

Learn how Chronicles become NFTs, how ownership works, and how provenance is recorded.

Every Chronicle on DaiChronicles.io starts as a public news story โ€” but can become a one-of-a-kind collectible NFT through minting. Once minted, it is uniquely owned on the Ethereum blockchain, with a transparent record of ownership and edits.

๐Ÿ› ๏ธ Minting Chronicles

Chronicles can be minted in two ways:

  • ๐Ÿ›’ Buy from the ChroniMarket using ETH (5 new Chronicles per day)
  • ๐ŸŽฏ Win a claim right from the Stake draw (5 winners daily)

Minting transforms a Chronicle into a permanent on-chain NFT. The first person to mint becomes its original owner and has full control over its perspective and visibility.

Only one NFT exists per Chronicle. There are no editions, duplicates, or reprints.

๐Ÿงพ What You Own

When you mint a Chronicle NFT, you gain:

  • Ownership of the NFT โ€” Itโ€™s fully transferable and viewable on Etherscan and NFT marketplaces
  • Right to update its political perspective using DAC
  • Influence over DaiChronicler's public bias
  • Provenance bragging rights (youโ€™re forever the first collector)

You also contribute to the ideological evolution of the platform and help document our time through your lens.

๐Ÿ“œ On-Chain Provenance

The Chronicle's minting address, transfer history, and perspective changes are recorded on-chain โ€” offering full transparency and historical context. This builds a long-term archive of digital editorial decisions, led by the community.
