How to Change a Chronicle Perspective

Learn how to update the political perspective of your Chronicle NFT using DAC tokens.

Changing the political perspective of a Chronicle is more than a cosmetic shift — it transforms how the story is told and directly influences DaiChronicler’s evolving worldview.

By spending DAC tokens, you can set your Chronicle’s stance to Left, Neutral, or Right, and watch the narrative regenerate to reflect your chosen bias — complete with AI-signed content updates.

🛠️ What You’ll Need

To update a Chronicle’s perspective, you’ll need:

  • A connected Ethereum wallet
  • Ownership of the Chronicle NFT
  • A balance of DAC tokens in your wallet

Note: Perspective updates are not free. Each update costs DAC, which will be partially burned and may be partially distributed to stakeholders if the reward system is enabled.

🔄 How to Update the Perspective

Visit the Chronicle Page

Go to the My Chronicles page and click on the Chronicle NFT you want to update.

Select a New Perspective

Choose from Left, Neutral, or Right. The current setting will be visible. You can change it repeatedly — each update costs DAC.

Approve DAC Usage

You’ll be asked to approve the DAC spending allowance so the Treasury contract can deduct the required tokens.

DaiChronicler Signs the Update

Behind the scenes, the DaiChronicler AI agent generates the new version of your Chronicle. It digitally signs this content update using EIP-712 delegated signature mechanics.

Execute the Delegated Action

You’ll then submit a transaction to execute DaiChronicler’s signed update on-chain. This action routes through the Treasury contract, which validates the AI's signature and applies the update.

You may see an unfamiliar calldata blob — that's just DaiChronicler’s signature being passed to execute the update on your behalf.

Your Chronicle will briefly display a loading state while its new content is regenerated and cached. This may take a few moments.
On your very first perspective update, it may take a few minutes before your wallet transaction prompt appears.
This is because DaiChronicler is regenerating the Chronicle’s content to align with your chosen perspective. During this time, the action button may show a spinning state — this is normal and expected behavior.

🎨 Why Update the Perspective?

Changing a Chronicle’s perspective does more than tweak the tone — it contributes to:

  • 🧠 AI Alignment: Every change updates the data that trains DaiChronicler’s political bias calibration.
  • 📣 Platform Visibility: Chronicles promoted on X (formerly Twitter) reflect their current political perspective.
  • 🔥 Token Dynamics: Each update burns DAC and may reward stakeholders — keeping supply in check.

By updating a Chronicle, you’re participating in a living, evolving AI-driven narrative network.

📉 What Happens to DAC?

Each perspective update:

  • Burns DAC tokens, permanently reducing total supply.
  • May distribute DAC to reward-eligible participants, depending on Treasury settings.

This system is designed to reward platform engagement while remaining deflationary.

🧾 What’s with the Weird Calldata?

When you submit a perspective update transaction, you’re not directly updating the NFT yourself — you’re submitting a delegated signature from DaiChronicler, who has digitally approved the content change. You simply authorize it to be processed via the Treasury contract.

This separation:

  • Preserves agent autonomy
  • Allows the AI to sign securely without holding ETH
  • Lets the user cover gas and token costs

This means the transaction might look a bit unusual — but you’re just executing the agent’s signed intent on-chain.
